- Let your child see you reading! When children see their parents reading it models a love for reading. Whether it's a book. magazine, or newspaper this will inspire your child to read.
- Visit your public library regularly- Look for and read together the books that were your favorites when you were a kid.
- Pick a reading place- It's important that everyone has a comfortable reading place at home so that they can enjoy the book.
- Involve and engage - Before reading , point to the book's title ,author, and illustrator and then ask "what do you think this book is going to be about?" As you read the story ask " what do you think will happen next?"
- Have older siblings read to younger siblings- When older siblings read to their younger siblings it helps them gain confidence!
